Whether you have 30 minutes or 2 hours, want to be involved with one specific event or all year long, have never volunteered before or are a seasoned veteran – we’ve got a spot for you! The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school.
Volunteering at Adkins Elementary has the potential not only to bolster your own student’s academic achievement, but your life as well. When we give to others, research shows your level of happiness increases. This means your quality of life actually improves as you spend time with us! At Adkins Elementary everything we do is centered around Learn. Connect. Serve.
We’d like to ask you to commit to volunteering 2 hours of your time throughout the school year. You can note the areas you’d like to volunteer on this form. Thank you for modeling to our children what service looks like in action. We look forward to spending some quality time with you this year.
All our best,
Dedra Adams, Adkins Elementary Principal
Katie Vaughn, Adkins Elementary Assistant Principal
The first step to volunteering in any capacity is to have an annual background check completed. Even if you’ve done it before, a new one is required each school year. We recommend completing it early rather than later (the time to get cleared lengthens at the beginning of school). The Denton ISD Volunteer Background Check Form must be completed online.
If you are ready to go all-in with a specific program, just let us know. If you’re not sure, check out a description of all of the Adkins PTA programs.
If you prefer to sign up for smaller jobs throughout the year, be sure you’re on our mailing list and watch for volunteer opportunities as we get close to specific events. We’ll always send out a Sign Up Genius with available spots.
If you have questions about the process or want more information about a specific program, contact our Volunteer Coordinator.
Thanks for volunteering – you are making a difference in the future!
